Since he was four years old, Tobio has had the ability to see monsters. Spirits, dead things, apparitions - whatever you call them, the things that most people can't see are what he can. It's a gift he never wanted, and it's a gift he still doesn't understand (and doesn't want to). The other kids at school, neighbors, strangers, and even his family think he's crazy, that he's seeing things.

He is, of course. It's just that you can't see them too.
